Antoine Thirion : Critic

An editorial staff member of the” Cahiers du Cinéma”, Antoine Thirion was born in 1981 in the Lille region. As an adolescent, he discovered the movies at the same time as art history, and directed about ten fiction and animation videos within the framework of his studies. At the end of a showing of “Vertigo” at the Fresnoy (in Tourcoing), he became friends with the critic Jean Douchet, who in 2000 invited him to meet the team in charge of the “Cahiers du Cinéma” site. He worked with the team until 2002. A critic for the review since 2003, he collaborates now and then on other periodic publications in the field of art (Trouble, L’Oeil) or cinema (Vertigo), as well as on collective works (about Hou Hsiao-hsien or Jacques Rozier), DVD editions (about Philippe Garrel), or on educational brochures (editorial coordinator and graphic designer of Lycéens au Cinéma for the school year 2005-06). He is now preparing a documentary.
